PAMPLEMOUSSES AND PORT LOUIS
Drive from the residence and start your day at the Pamplemousse Botanical Garden, created by the famous French botanist Pierre Poivre. Fill your lungs with fresh air as you follow the many meandering paths planted with rare species from around the world. Next stop will be Port Louis where you will visit the Citadel, a fortress built in 1934, which will entertain you with a panoramic view of Port Louis.
Then, take advantage of the shopping opportunities in Caudan Waterfront with its numerous boutiques which display beautiful collections of local designers and famous brands. Its craft market is an open bazaar, impregnated by exotic scents of spices, souvenirs and basketry. The recent extension, Dias Pier, named after a famous Portuguese explorer, houses shops, coffee shops and bars.
The half day will end in the central market of Port-Louis for a glimpse of its colorful cross-section of Mauritian life.
